Research on the Mobility of Nursing Home Caregivers from the Perspective of Push Pull Theory

Abstract

As China's demographic structure changes and the population ages, the demand for skilled caregivers increases. This study uses the push-pull theory to analyze the issue of caregiver mobility in nursing homes.10 nursing staff were interviewed for this interview, including 3 males and 7 females, aged between 43 and 60 years old, with an average age of 52.3 years old. There is 1 person with a university education, 4 people in high school, and 5 people in junior high school. Through interviews, it was found that caregiver mobility is influenced by factors such as employment barriers, work intensity, social biases, as well as market demand, skill development, and emotional rewards. To reduce turnover rates and improve the quality of elderly care services, this paper proposes suggestions to optimize the training system, improve the working environment, and enhance the social image of the profession.
