Published on August 2024Through judicial interpretation, China has established a legal basis for the non-prosecution or non-penalization of cult crimes. This is a systemic arrangement based on the particularity of cult crime governance, with rational applicability and in line with the governance logic of belief-based crimes. However, due to the sensitivity of cult crimes, judicial authorities still prefer strict control over the extent of sentencing concessions for individuals with potential criminal liability. Being prosecuted has become the mainstream in current judicial practice, which is related to cognitive biases among judicial personnel regarding cult crimes, the low application standards for non-prosecution or non-penalization, and insufficient institutional supply. It is necessary to improve the top-level design, raise the application standards, establish evaluation mechanisms, and explore cooperation in education and transformation to optimize the non-prosecution or non-penalization work for cult crimes.
This paper aims to evoke cultural and identity recognition among Taiwanese compatriots by highlighting the ideological and cultural values of the reverence for ancestors. Using literature analysis, the study examines the core connotations, national psychology, and cultural values of the reverence for ancestors culture on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The analysis reveals that people on both sides share common historical and cultural memories and a common national psychological consciousness. However, currently, there is an alienation in identity recognition among Taiwanese youth. Therefore, leveraging the power of media dissemination can help build a sense of community between the two sides.
The SCO region has long been a stronghold for terrorism, and the proliferation of the internet has accelerated the development of cyber terrorism. Facing severe cybersecurity threats, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has deepened its cyber counterterrorism cooperation through treaties, joint exercises, and specialized departments, achieving significant results. However, challenges such as insufficient intelligence sharing, lack of professional personnel, and difficulties in law enforcement cooperation remain. Future efforts should adhere to the concept of a community with a shared future in cyberspace, strengthen intelligence sharing, and continue counterterrorism exercises to effectively address the threat of cyber terrorism.
“Seeking replacement” is actually a proactive lifestyle change and an effort to adjust the relationship between oneself and external objects. From previously comparing who bought the most expensive goods, what luxury brands were purchased, to now comparing who buys items with better value for money. This generation of young people is becoming more frugal, starting to budget meticulously, abandoning wild spending, and advocating for reverse consumption. The “2023 China Catering Consumption Trends” report indicates that the catering industry consumption has already shown characteristics of the “fourth consumption era,” where consumers increasingly emphasize simplicity and shared consumption experiences. The trend of “reverse consumption” gaining popularity among young people reflects contemporary youth’s shift in attitude towards life and a reassessment of their self-needs.
In the new era, the concept of elderly education is gradually gaining acceptance. From the perspective of Multiple Streams Theory, abundant data not only reveal the severe challenges faced by elderly education but also become key indicators for measuring its development trend. The high public attention and focal events intertwined accelerate the prominence of problem streams. The attention of government departments to elderly education issues, the deep insights and unique suggestions of NPC deputies and experts and scholars provide rich intellectual resources for policy formulation. Additionally, the guidance of advanced party concepts, the solid guarantee of government administration according to law, and the widespread resonance of national emotions together constitute a strong driving force in the political stream. When the problem, policy, and political streams converge, the policy window opens accordingly, initiating a new chapter for the development of elderly education at the national legislative level.
In the context of globalization, the relationship between China and South Korea has undergone numerous setbacks and reconciliations. Facing the rapidly changing international political environment, particularly in areas such as regional security, economic cooperation, and cultural exchange, the relationship between China and South Korea is at a critical turning point. This article, through an in-depth analysis of the evolution of the international political landscape, explores its direct impact on China-South Korea relations and contrasts the historical context with the current situation to reveal the development trends of the bilateral relationship. Furthermore, the paper proposes strategic measures that China should adopt in the face of future uncertainties to promote long-term stability and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. By comprehensively considering geopolitics, economic interests, and cultural exchanges, this study aims to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for formulating more precise and effective foreign policies.
In the wave of generative artificial intelligence, the leap in digital technology has not only opened a new chapter in human civilization but also posed higher demands on the ethical complexity and value diversity of social governance. As technology becomes deeply integrated into daily life, we need to comprehensively examine its essence. External regulation and critique are no longer sufficient to address technological development; guiding technology towards good through internal design has become key, highlighting the importance of technical governance as a new path for social governance. As an essential dimension of technical governance, Value-Sensitive Design (VSD) has garnered significant attention due to its ethical implications and cutting-edge practices. VSD considers various moral values in design, ensuring that technological development aligns with societal visions. By clarifying value orientations, VSD places human values at the core, iterating designs to ensure that technology aligns with social ethics. This paper explores the design and application of noise decibel detection lamps based on VSD, embodying the concept of “tranquility, harmony, and order,” playing an active role in enhancing well-being and optimizing governance, and providing valuable insights for technological innovation and social governance.
In the current digital media era, women's work is frequently subjected to more convenient "gazes." This study employs participatory observation methods to observe and research female anchors on internet live streaming platforms, exploring the processes of constructing their professional, familial, and social identities. The research finds significant variations in their roles and self-identities across different domains, closely influenced by factors such as digital work environments and the use of social media. The impact of digital media development on women's professional lives is profound and cannot be underestimated. Additionally, female internet anchors may face issues such as work-family balance and conflicts between career development and social needs. Promoting gender equality, fostering women's career development, eliminating potential gender discrimination and occupational barriers, and advancing social progress and development are imperative.
The communist movement aims to achieve the liberation of the proletariat and the free and comprehensive development of human beings. From the perspective of the methodology of historical materialism, this goal also constitutes the core of Marx's theory of ownership. As an important part of Marxist political economy, the theory of ownership, with its strong correlation with productive forces and production relations, has continuously deepened and evolved in theory and practice, adapting to the times. This requires us to grasp its characteristics in different stages of development to achieve a scientific understanding. At the same time, Marx's theory of ownership, as an organic unity of scientific and value standards, points to the historical development of real people and shows strong practical significance. Analyzing and studying the theory of ownership in Marxism helps us to achieve the comprehensive and free development of people on the basis of a better grasp of the laws of development of ownership forms.
The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the evolution of the "major changes unseen in a century," intensifying the power and information asymmetry between Northern and Southern countries in international negotiations and deepening the hierarchical structure of international society. This paper compares the "logic of consequentiality" and the "logic of appropriateness" adhered to by different developed countries during negotiations. It also analyzes the "high-context culture" and "low-context culture" exhibited by individuals in negotiations. Through this, a qualitative model is established, and case studies are conducted to discuss the differences in negotiation thinking between Northern countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Japan with Africa, aiming to provide insights and references for the international negotiation practices of Global South.
