While many are acquainted with the classifications and general concepts of functional wear, this paper delves deeper, exploring the underlying significance.

Within the realm of functional wear, the author places particular emphasis on how to embrace and embody this trend, as well as how to effectively incorporate it into one's personal style [1]. By aggregating various classifications and introductions to functional wear, this paper aims to articulate a comprehensive understanding of its definition and distinctions.

Through this exploration of functional wear, the author seeks to challenge preconceived notions and foster a fresh perspective, ultimately paving the way for broader acceptance and the promotion of this cultural trend. Functional wear prioritizes clothing comfort and encourages ease of movement in diverse situations. It further underscores practicality, enabling individuals to adapt their clothing style and functionality to suit their specific needs [2].

2.Key Definition

Functional style originates from functional clothing, a subset of technical textiles designed with specific purposes in mind to provide users with enhanced functionality and improved performance through innovative materials [3,4]. The term "functionality" refers to the additional value and functions integrated into garments. These garments can serve various roles, from offering protection in life-threatening work environments to enhancing athletic performance. Additionally, they may provide aesthetic appeal and comfort, exemplified by athleisure and seamless wear. Synthetic materials are commonly employed in the manufacturing process to confer specific functions, such as temperature regulation, water resistance, quick drying, and performance enhancement. However, designers also prioritize aesthetics to meet consumer demands.

The concept of functional clothing finds its roots in the architectural field, where practicality and application determine a building's design. Historical examples, dating back to medieval times, include military structures that were strategically planned for functionality. Protective clothing, a precursor to modern functional wear, emerged as an essential aspect of safety. For instance, seatbelts were introduced to the Chinese market in the 1950s, followed by the development of anti-immersion clothing and cold-proof shoes. In January 1996, China established national military standards for cold-proof shoes, emphasizing their role in preserving warmth for soldiers. The use of specialized functional clothing has played a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of human endurance, enabling exploration in extreme environments and the pursuit of new resources.

Since the 1980s, functional clothing technology has gained global prominence in the realm of protective science. Many countries have implemented regulations, production standards, and testing methodologies for skin-protective clothing, providing a legal framework for further advancements. Academic organizations and standardization institutions have also emerged following the inaugural international academic conference on protective clothing in Denmark in 1984. These entities have significantly fostered the development of protective clothing.

Today, functional style has transitioned into a mainstream fashion trend embraced by people of all backgrounds. The global functional apparel market, valued at US$ 351.9 billion in 2022, continues to grow [4-6]. Key drivers of this growth include increased global participation in sports, rising awareness of public health, and the growing preference for an active lifestyle, which has fueled demand for sportswear and everyday functional clothing. Social media influencers collaborate with brands to promote products on e-commerce platforms, attracting consumers. Additionally, increased disposable income and urbanization in both developing and developed economies have expanded the functional clothing market.

In summary, the articles will focus on analysis of the how functional style wear impacts the global apparel market demand and consumers choice, especially its growth, opportunity and forecasting the future ability of functional apparel.

Fourthly, functional style clothing places a strong emphasis on unique design and personalized details. It caters to consumers' desires for self-expression through fashion. By offering a diverse range of styles, accessories, and customizable details, functional clothing allows consumers to create distinct fashion statements that align with their preferences and personalities.

Lastly, the characteristics and brand value associated with functional style clothing play a significant role in influencing consumer purchasing decisions. Consumers tend to favor brands that excel in practicality, comfort, environmental responsibility, and personalized style. They are willing to pay a premium for clothing that embodies these qualities and provides added value to their lives.

In conclusion, functional style clothing has a substantial impact on consumer behavior, encompassing various aspects of their purchasing decisions, preferences, and evolving values. Consumer demand for comfort, practicality, health and sports, sustainable fashion, and personalization drives the growth and evolution of the functional wear market.
