Against the backdrop of global economic integration, economic cooperation between China and ASEAN has become increasingly close. As an economic organisation in Southeast Asia, ASEAN has enhanced the economic strength and international influence of the entire region by promoting economic integration among its member countries. This study examines the interaction between China and ASEAN countries in the area of transport cooperation and the potential impact of these cooperation projects on bilateral trade volumes through case studies of the China-Laos Railway (CLR) and the Kunming-Bangkok Expressway (KBA). The study uses annual import and export statistics provided by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) to reveal the direct and indirect impacts of transport infrastructure improvements on trade flows by comparing the growth rates of China's imports and exports of goods with the partner countries before and after the co-operation with the growth rates with ASEAN countries. The results show a significant trade-boosting effect of transport infrastructure cooperation between China and ASEAN countries. The opening of the CLR and the KBA not only improved the efficiency and quality of goods transport, but also promoted the economic development of the countries along the routes. Through these transport infrastructure projects, the trade volume between China and ASEAN countries has increased significantly, the trade structure has been optimised, logistics efficiency has been improved, industrial complementarity has been enhanced, and substantial economic benefits have been brought to both sides.

As Error analysis in second language writing remains controversial, this study aims to investigate errors with high frequency in L2 writing of high school students in China and reveal the relationship between writing tasks and error types. By analyzing compositions in high school English exams, the study will discover the distribution pattern frequencies of different errors and make comparisons of students at different levels. The findings indicate that verb tense errors are the most frequent but decrease as students progress in grade level, while syntactical errors become more prevalent in more complex tasks, such as continuation writing. This study highlights the persistent challenges students face in constructing grammatically accurate sentences in flexible writing tasks. These insights provide empirical evidence for targeted grammar instruction, emphasizing verb usage and sentence structure complexity to improve overall writing proficiency.

China has recently been the winner in a world table tennis competition. Since the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China has consistently secured the first or second prize. Ma Long, for example, won two Olympic championships in 2016 and 2020. He is considered the most representative player in the history of table tennis and has significantly influenced the sport's development. Taking Ma Long as an example, this paper studies his table tennis skills and strategies based on his recent match against Lin Gaoyuan in the World Cup final. This research mainly focuses on identifying the techniques Ma Long employed in various situations and how he managed to win after losing the first three games. The results show that (1) Ma Long utilizes a variety of serving and hitting techniques when falling behind. For instance, after losing the first three games, he switched to using his backhand serve, a technique rarely used in his previous matches. (2) Due to age and early deficits, Ma Long did not aggressively attack with his forehand as he did when he was younger. Instead, he capitalized on his opponent's errors. The opponent would become increasingly flustered and continue making mistakes. (3) Ma Long is adept at observing his opponents. He used backhand flicks and reverse rotations when serving, as seen in his semifinal match against Wang Chuqin. He also varied his opponent's positions to create more opportunities, avoiding prolonged exchanges due to age and injuries. Ma Long is a player with diverse skills to handle different opponents. This paper may offer some references in tactics and effective strategies for other athletes when falling behind.

Mobile technology's advent and booming development have unlocked promising possibilities for EFL learners to learn vocabulary supported by mobile devices. Thus, mobile-assisted vocabulary learning has attracted researchers’ attention and interest recently. This growing attention and interest have led to a demand for review studies. This research aims to examine research foci and major findings on mobile-assisted English vocabulary learning using a content analysis method based on combining literature. Most empirical research focused on exploring the effect of mobile applications on learners’ English vocabulary learning via mixed methods, while only a few studies tried to examine factors influencing learners’ performance of English vocabulary learning in a mobile context. Research confirmed the positive effect of mobile applications on learners’ English vocabulary learning; however, research related to influencing factors reported mixed findings. Theory-oriented research mainly included theorising various modes of mobile-assisted English vocabulary learning and explaining the ideas of how to design user-friendly and efficient mobile vocabulary learning applications. Diverse modes were explained by researchers, such as to send messages, to build a multimodal English vocabulary database, to reasonably using portable devices and to build an online interactive community. Four types of applications are occupying a dominant position, which are online dictionary applications, vocabulary learning applications matching paper textbooks, and word memorizing applications. Research also implied that mobile English vocabulary applications tend to be easy to use, personalizing, and gamifying. This study also provides some implications for researchers, teachers, and learners.

This study investigates the emotional responses triggered by color changes, utilizing both discrete and continuous video stimuli to explore the theory that color influences emotional states. Nineteen participants from the IHHSJF-30201 class were exposed to color pairs derived from the Berkeley Color Project 37 (BCP-37), specifically examining transitions between saturated and medium hues of red, blue, yellow, and purple. Through Spearman’s Rho correlation analysis and differential emotion intensity measurements, the study evaluates how sudden versus gradual color changes affect emotional perception. Results demonstrate significant differences in emotional responses between the discrete and continuous color transition groups, highlighting the impact of transition mode on emotional dynamics. The findings support existing theories on the relationship between color and emotion and suggest the potential for personalized color applications to enhance user experience in digital interfaces. Future research directions include integrating machine learning techniques and expanding biometric data collection to further refine the understanding of color-emotion interactions and their practical applications.

This article provides an in-depth analysis of the Buddhist concept of no-self. It clarifies the essential Buddhist tenets of karma, impermanence, emptiness, and the Middle Way, underscoring that nothing in the world, created or influenced by conditions, is constant and unchanging, and that all phenomena emerge from a convergence of their respective conditions or causes. The paper subsequently analyses the significance of the five skandhas—form, sensation, perception, mental formations, and consciousness—as the aggregates that comprise an individual, and explores the five receptive yin, the non-self of humanity, and the non-self of dharma. The paramount objective is the realisation of the authentic self, juxtaposed with the repudiation of the corporeal self accentuated by the deceptive self. The focus is on the Buddhist concept of non-self, demonstrating that the self is neither any of the five aggregates nor a combination of them; this is followed by a clarification of misunderstandings about non-self, including the idea of a self independent of the aggregates, the rejection of chemotaxis theory, and the denial of the eliminative no-self theory. The thought experiment of the ship of Theseus is utilised to clarify the transformation and insubstantiality of the self, prompting individuals to move beyond the traditional conception of self and investigate the idea of non-self. The Buddhist concept of 'not-self' provides individuals with an alternative viewpoint and spiritual understanding, enabling the release of attachment to material possessions and the ego, thus promoting inner peace and tranquilly.
