Published on June 2024As the number of short video users continues to grow, China is embracing the "mobile vertical screen era." To satisfy users' demands for a quicker immersive experience, major platforms are adopting a vertical screen format for micro-movies and videos, particularly given the maturity of the fragmented online context, initiatives for aging media adaptation, and the trend towards younger internet users. These factors provide a prime opportunity for the development of vertical screen video formats. Many short video platforms have begun experimenting with vertical documentaries. This paper takes the vertical documentary "Talking to Strangers" as a case study to discuss its strengths and weaknesses in conjunction with the future development of vertical screen documentaries. In today's era of fragmentation, where various types of work are emerging, how to make vertical screen documentaries into refined classics is a question worth considering and discussing deeply.
Rock and roll is not only a form of music, but also a "attitude and philosophy of life". It is precisely because of this that rock and roll is different from general pop music, and there are various differences between Chinese and Western rock and roll. Rock music has many branches and complex forms. Its main styles include folk rock, art rock, psychedelic rock, Country rock, heavy metal, punk, etc. This article studies the singing forms of Western rock music that integrate classical cultural elements. People who listen to classical music "despise" the "vulgarity" of rock and roll, and people who play rock and roll "dislike" the "affectation" of classical music. These two music styles, which seem to never blend together, always maintain a proud attitude of respecting each other in their respective music culture circles. The extensive use of words with classical cultural elements and cultural imagery in rock music works can allow viewers to develop a sense of closeness and identification with the national essence reflected in the work from an aesthetic psychological perspective, and have a deeper understanding of the ideas expressed in the work.
This paper delves into the importance of public services and management innovation in museums and their specific implementation strategies. Through a comprehensive analysis of the main challenges currently faced by museums in services and management, the paper cites a range of successful cases both domestically and internationally. This, in turn, better meets the public's cultural needs and promotes the sustainable development of museums.
Southern Fujian mainly refers to the "Southern Fujian Iron Triangle" region composed of Quanzhou, Xiamen, and Zhangzhou. Since the Southern Song dynasty, this has been the primary economic and cultural hub of the province. The dialects and cultures of these cities are historically interconnected. In this context, many folk crafts have emerged in Southern Fujian's history. This paper focuses on traditional folk crafts of the Southern Fujian area—Dehua Kiln white porcelain and Zhangzhou Kiln beige-glazed pottery—examining from the perspective of local cultural and religious customs. Using documentary research and case study methods, this study explores the impact of local religious culture and customs on the craftsmanship of these two types of pottery, aiming to further promote the exchange of folk crafts between Zhangzhou and Quanzhou.
Kurt Vonnegut constructed a post-apocalyptic fantasy in Galápagos: after the extinction effects of technology abuse, war and ecological unbalance in the Capitalocene, the old human race cannot reproduce due to the plague, while the new human race comes to an island by “Noah's Ark” and evolves into seal-like animals, returning to nature and living in harmony with other species; it contains a profound criticism of the Anthropocene and a post-human ecological imagination of life forms. Based on the framework of subversion-reconstruction-prospect of life community, this paper explores the construction path of post-human life community. Finally, it is pointed out that the essence of this construction is the nomadic strategy of escape and the fantasy of absolute de-territorialization, but it reveals the vision and value of reconstructing the life community.

The distinctive attire of the Zhuang ethnicity is the most direct expression of its folk culture. The positive development and utilization of ethnic costumes can significantly benefit Zhuang folk tourism. Incorporating elements of ethnic costume culture, such as patterns, colors, fabrics, and decorations, into modern design can enrich the ethnic cultural connotations of contemporary design practices. This research project, taking the Zhuang Fu Rui cultural dolls as a case study, discusses the integration and continuation of minority culture with modern design. By merging Zhuang costume culture with "Fu Rui" culture, the study explores the incorporation of traditional cultural elements into modern design, aiming to preserve and promote Zhuang culture. Additionally, the paper uses case analysis to deeply examine the role of cultural and creative products in the inheritance of Zhuang culture, suggesting that products combining Zhuang culture with Fu Rui culture can effectively facilitate the transmission and spread of traditional culture.
