In recent years, as the experiences of female victims of intimate partner violence have been extensively studied, an increasing number of Western researchers have begun to focus on male victims and conduct related studies. However, due to reporting gaps and help-seeking difficulties, male victims of intimate partner violence in China still receive relatively little attention, and there remains a significant gap in research in this area. Therefore, this review, based on a qualitative analysis of 23 articles, summarizes some of the common forms and consequences of trauma shared by male victims of intimate partner violence. It also examines the subjective and objective reasons behind the difficulties male victims face in seeking help, considering China's unique context. These reasons include the changes in gender ideology in China after the reform and opening-up, traditional masculinity emphasized by Chinese cultural norms, and the lack of attention and professionalism in Chinese social work organizations and other social service providers regarding male victims of intimate partner violence.

In traditional ethics, "self-interest and altruism" is presented as a dichotomy. In the theoretical framework of ethical egoism, Hobbes" theory of the state of nature and social contract theory take self-interest as the fundamental driving force of human nature, and it has been consistently used in the construction of moral order in civilised societies, which dissolves the dichotomy of egoism-altruism. On the other hand, the purity of "good will" in Kant’s deontology is essentially illusory, and rational pleasure and implicit self-interest always constitute the deep-seated driving force of behaviour. Therefore, "rational self-interest", as a new paradigm of moral practice, stresses that social cooperation and civilisation advancement is actually an invisible contract made by self-interested people based on long-term interests. This perspective not only challenges the Utopian presuppositions of traditional ethics, but also provides a more realistic path for understanding the rational symbiosis between individuals and society.

With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology, its application in the field of animation production has become increasingly extensive and in-depth. This has not only significantly transformed traditional modes of animation creation but has also had a profound impact on animation ontology. This paper aims to explore the emerging changes and developmental trends in animation ontology within the context of artificial intelligence. Driven by the wave of digitalization and intelligent technologies, animation as a unique art form is undergoing unprecedented transformations. Leveraging its powerful capabilities in data processing, learning, and creativity, artificial intelligence offers entirely new possibilities and tools for animation creation. By analyzing practical applications of AI technology in animation production, this paper examines the challenges it poses to traditional animation ontology and how it reshapes the field, in hopes of providing new theoretical perspectives and practical guidance for the development of animation art.

With the increasing importance of English, Chinese middle school students face significant challenges in developing English proficiency. This study explores the English reading abilities of Chinese middle school students through the innovative method of miscue analysis, which examines the deviations from the expected response during the reading process to reveal their underlying reading strategies and shortcomings. Pioneered by Ken Goodman, miscue analysis has provided valuable insights into reading behaviors across diverse populations. This research involves 40 junior high school students from Tianjin Foreign Language School, analyzing the types and causes of miscues in their reading process. The findings indicate that these students mainly face challenges such as having a limited vocabulary, making grammatical errors and experiencing comprehension difficulties. The result emphasizes the potential of miscue analysis as a diagnostic tool in second-language education, offering educators a deeper understanding of students’ reading processes, guiding the development of targeted interventions to enhance the quality of second-language education. Future research should focus on expanding the sample size, developing specific scientific interventions to increase credibility, and applying miscue analysis to broader student populations and contexts to provide a comprehensive understanding of factors influencing English language learning in China.

The period from WWII to the 1950s marked Hollywood’s rapid evolution. Drawing on André Bazin’s theories about cinema’s intrinsic link to reality and its documentary function, this paper examines Casablanca (1942) and Singin’ in the Rain (1952) to analyze how Hollywood narratives mirrored sociohistorical contexts while reflecting contemporary political, economic, and cultural influences. Casablanca, though framed as a romance, emerged during WWII’s final stages, channeling patriotic sentiment into soft propaganda to mobilize public unity. Conversely, Singin’ in the Rain, produced in Hollywood’s musical golden age, allegorized the industry’s self-reinvention amid 1950s television competition by revisiting the silent-to-sound transition. Both films exemplify Bazin’s duality of cinematic reproduction and reconstruction of reality. The study reveals that Hollywood’s narrative-industrial apparatus not only addressed urgent social issues but also generated cultural artifacts that crystallize historical moments. Casablanca embodies wartime mobilization, while Singin’ in the Rain reflects media adaptation strategies, together illustrating cinema’s role as both a social mirror and an active participant in historical discourse. These cases demonstrate how Hollywood’s artistic practices and institutional frameworks dynamically mediated between art and reality, validating Bazin’s insights into film’s capacity to archive and reinterpret its sociotemporal milieu. Their legacy offers researchers vivid material for decoding postwar American sociocultural shifts.

This study explores how educational fairness can help reduce barriers to social mobility and address income inequality. This examines how ensuring equitable access to quality education might assist marginalised groups in enhancing their economic prospects and ascending the social hierarchy. The research examines how gaps in education—due to factors like family income, gender, or where someone lives—can impact long-term outcomes in both social and economic terms. By reviewing current policies and programs promoting education fairness, the paper highlights how these efforts can increase social mobility and reduce income inequality. The study also discusses how education connects to job prospects and breaking the cycle of poverty, showing its key role in reducing inequality. Overall, the research stresses the importance of creating policies that ensure everyone has equal access to education, helping build a more fair and mobile society.

Since the early 2000s, MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) games have gradually become one of the mainstream types in the global game market. This study explores how the ranking system in MOBA games, such as "Honor of Kings", drives players' long-term participation and behavior through symbolic effects, especially in the game motivation, social behavior, and its impact on the self-identity of high-ranking players. This study uses semi-structured interviews to explore how the ranking system of "Honor of Kings" drives players' behavior as a symbol. The study shows that although high-ranking players believe that the sense of achievement brought by the ranking itself gradually weakens over time, the ranking, as a symbolic symbol, continues to drive players' participation. Through the analysis of players' goal setting, social comparison, and identity, this paper reveals how the ranking system drives players' behavior as a goal and strengthens players' self-cognition and social status through social identity and social comparison. Future game design should optimize ranking systems to balance competitiveness with entertainment, ensuring a healthy gaming environment.

For young people in contemporary Chinese society, music has become a new social symbol. They express their emotions and achieve emotional resonance through the Internet, social media, and live music events. The emergence of different popular music genres is not only due to the musical characteristics of the music itself but also serves as a common language to meet the emotional, cultural identity, and social needs of young people. This article attempts to explore the social reasons behind the popularity of emerging music types (such as hip-hop, electronic music, and "new national style" fusion music) and the relationship chain driven by digital platforms by analyzing their popular trends. This provides a new perspective for understanding the interaction between music and social issues and for better understanding contemporary youth culture. At the same time, it critically examines the possibility that algorithm-driven dissemination models may lead to cultural narrowing. It also calls for a balance between pursuing traffic and ensuring cultural diversity in the current context for platforms. Through research, it is found that the algorithmic recommendations and short-video dissemination mechanisms of digital platforms have significantly promoted the popularity of music genres, and young people build cultural identity and relieve social pressure through music consumption.
