Published on November 2024In recent years, the construction and dissemination of national images have become key topics in international relations and cultural exchanges, playing a crucial role in enhancing citizens' sense of national identity and pride. Against the backdrop of the ever-changing international economic and political landscape, the dissemination of China's image faces practical challenges, such as audience resistance and an overly propagandistic tone. The report from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasized the need to accelerate the construction of a Chinese discourse and narrative system, tell China’s story well, disseminate China's voice effectively, and present a credible, lovable, and respectable image of China. With the continuous development of new media technologies, strengthening the relationship between communicators and audiences has become a key factor in spreading a vivid image of China. From the perspective of para-social interaction theory, this paper examines para-social interaction and the dissemination of China's image on social media, using Zhu Zitong, host of Phoenix TV's Talk with World Leaders, as a case study. It analyzes how Zhu connects with audiences through television programs and social media platforms, establishes emotional resonance, and deepens emotional identification, thus contributing to the dissemination of a vivid image of China. The paper further explores strategies to optimize the dissemination of this image.

In the context of the era of integrated media, TV news commentary programs are undergoing profound changes. Since 2023, the Elephant News Center has emphasized "integration," breaking down the barriers between media such as radio, television, newspapers, websites, and mobile apps. All communication platforms and business entities have essentially achieved a shift from mere physical "addition" to a chemical "integration." In terms of building a commentary matrix, the Elephant News Center has successively launched commentary and interview brands such as Elephant News and Fengping, based on previous programs like Dialogue in Central Plains. "Let thoughts be sharp, and let consensus be strong." Fengping pioneered mobile video commentary for Henan Broadcasting, adhering to the high-end discussion of high-end topics. It has continuously produced viral commentary over its hundreds of episodes, reviving traditional commentary with new vitality on the internet. However, as a "newborn" product, Fengping still has room for improvement. This paper takes the video commentary program Fengping as a case study, using the "uses and gratifications" theory to examine the "breaking the circle" phenomenon of this video commentary program in the era of integrated media and to analyze its innovative paths, aiming to explore valuable experiences for the innovative development of commentary programs.

The influence of K-pop girl group music is increasing, and its audience is growing more diverse. The development of K-pop girl group music reflects the progress of feminism, but traces of stereotyped female images can still be observed. This paper explores the construction of these stereotypes from the perspective of gender construction in the development of K-pop girl group music. To date, few scholars have systematically studied K-pop girl groups and their music through text analysis to uncover the meanings behind the music that is now widely appreciated. This study attempts to address the gap in understanding of how female images are constructed and how female stereotypes have evolved in K-pop music. The study employs thematic analysis to examine three main aspects: the construction of female images, research methods, and research findings. From a feminist perspective, men are often in a dominant position in the media, while women are intentionally marginalized or stereotyped. The research findings indicate that prior to the fourth generation of K-pop girl groups, music works were predominantly focused on the theme of love, with groups largely favoring a sexy and glamorous style. Dance movements were primarily characterized by softness and femininity. After the fourth generation, music themes began to shift towards self-empowerment and dreams, while group styles diversified to include sweet, cool, and fierce aesthetics. Dance movements have also become more powerful and incorporated many hip-hop elements. Additionally, the variety of music genres has expanded, showcasing diverse forms of female beauty. The study reveals that in the process of developing K-pop girl group music, there are tendencies that deviate from or even alienate mainstream gender consciousness. However, the evolving stereotype of female images in K-pop music suggests greater possibilities for future development.
