Abstract: The portrayal of public figures, especially female athletes, has undergone quite a bit of transformation due to social media and internet news platforms growing rapidly over the past years. This paper mainly analyzes the Weibo image construction of female Chinese athletes from the two perspectives: self-shaping and other-shaping. Three famous athletes are chosen for this study: Zhang Yufei, Wu Yanni, and Li Wenwen, who have each gained more than a million followers on Weibo. By doing text analysis and case studies, the focus here is placed on how athletes manage their public images and also how media and public reactions shape those images. The findings talk about the main reasons why self-shaping images and other-shaping images show differences, including things like cultural influence and gender roles, as well as the fewer female examples available in sports. This paper may offer some references for people who need to maintain their images in public.
Abstract: China's reform and opening up have led to remarkable advancements in education and the economy. However, regional inequality has become a prominent issue, particularly between border and coastal areas. Using as examples, This study examines the educational discrepancies between Yunnan Province and Guangdong Province as examples, aiming to identify the causes of such inequality. The study discovers that one primary cause of regional educational inequality is the disparity in socio-economic development. As a economically developed coastal region, Guangdong possesses greater economic capacity for rapid growth and can allocate more funding towards educational resources and infrastructural development. In contrast, less developed areas like Yunnan have made insufficient investments in this field. Furthermore, cultural differences significantly impact education levels: coastal regions such as Guangdong have higher expectations for higher education and value the role of the family in education; whereas frontier areas like Yunnan prioritize education less due to geographic and cultural constraints, resulting in lower levels of attention and investment. Each local government's policy stance and investment direction differ: economically developed locations tend to attract more qualified instructors and associated resources, while less developed regions lag behind, aggravating the unequal distribution of educational resources. This paper contends that regional economic disparities are the main driver of educational inequality, particularly in terms of investment and access to educational resources. Bridging the economic gap between different regions is crucial for achieving educational equity, which is closely linked to the country's overall prosperity and stability.
Abstract: This essay explores the existential themes of identity, freedom, and responsibility in Jean-Paul Sartre's "Existentialism is a Humanism" and Brad Bird's "The Iron Giant." While Sartre's essay offers an abstract philosophical framework, Bird's film presents a concrete narrative that illustrates these existentialist principles in action. Both works emphasize the necessity of actively shaping one's identity through choices and actions. However, the essay reveals nuanced differences in their treatment of individualism versus collectivism. Sartre's work advocates for self-reliance and the rejection of external influences, whereas "The Iron Giant" suggests that relationships and community play a critical role in identity formation. This analysis underscores the complexity of human existence and highlights how external factors can complement individual agency in defining one's essence. The comparative study concludes that while both works align with existentialist thought, Bird's narrative can be interpreted as offering a more inclusive view of identity, integrating the influence of society and interpersonal connections.
Abstract: As a key policy to promote the balanced distribution of educational resources and realise educational equity, the teacher rotation system aims to alleviate the disparity in the level of teachers between urban and rural areas and among schools through the rational allocation of teacher resources. With the perspective of better achieving educational equity, this paper systematically comprehends the implementation status and experience of the teacher rotation system at home and abroad through literature reading and analysis. It is found that although the teacher rotation system plays a significant role in promoting educational equity, there are still challenges in the implementation process, such as teachers' adaptation difficulties, schools' conflict of interest, and imperfect supporting measures. In response to these problems, this paper proposes optimisation paths, including providing policy support to help teachers adapt to the new environment, strengthening publicity to enhance public acceptance, and improving monitoring mechanisms to ensure the effectiveness of policy implementation. The conclusion stresses that the effective implementation of the teacher rotation system requires the joint efforts of the government, schools, teachers and all sectors of the society, so as to promote the balanced development of education and achieve educational equity through the continuous optimisation of the system design and supporting measures.
Abstract: The Kumano Kodo, an ancient pilgrimage route network in the Kii Peninsula of Japan, serves as a unique case study in the intersection of cultural heritage, landscape ecology, and human-nature relationships. This paper explores the dynamic interactions between human interventions and natural processes along the Kumano Kodo, highlighting how landscape ecology principles illustrate the blurred boundaries between nature and culture. The rewilding of the human-imposed structures, coupled with the restorative experiences of modern pilgrims, reinforces the notion of coexistence rather than dominance over nature. The findings support Turner’s theory of landscape dynamics and Morton’s assertion that the human-nature dichotomy is artificial, showing how human interventions and natural processes coalesce in a living landscape. The study also applies Kaplan’s Attention Restoration Theory to demonstrate the psychological benefits of engaging with cultural landscapes. However, the research is limited by its focus on a specific demographic of pilgrims and calls for more diverse methodologies in future studies. Broader data collection will offer deeper insights into the long-term psychological effects and cultural significance of such heritage sites.
Abstract: In the process of learning a second language, correct pronunciation is an indispensable prerequisite for having strong listening and speaking skills. Primary school students in Kunming (represented by the urban area) often experience negative phonological transfer in the process of English phonological acquisition due to their habitual use of dialects, resulting in inaccurate pronunciation and weak listening and speaking skills. Based on the information from three aspects—teaching experience, literature reading and internet search, this paper summarizes the common negative phonological transfer problems of primary school students, such as mispronouncing the vowel [aɪ] sound as [e] sound, having difficulty in effectively distinguishing between consonant [v] sound and [w] sound, and being very prone to confusing basic long and short sounds. The above problems can be solved by strengthening teacher training, optimizing teaching strategies and introducing educational resources. Such measures can significantly aid students in improving their pronunciation accuracy, thereby laying a solid foundation for better listening and speaking skills.
Abstract: As pets gain increasing significance in family life, pet loss syndrome has emerged as a mental health concern that demands urgent attention. When their pets pass away, many pet owners physically and psychologically isolate themselves, which makes it challenging to process unpleasant feelings in a healthy way. The purpose of this study is to investigate and explore how augmented reality (AR) game design can help users cope with the psychological trauma and emotional challenges caused by pet deaths. This study utilized user research, prototype design, user testing, and comparative research to develop and evaluate the usability and healing effects of the AR game. The research results indicate that this AR game has unique advantages in interactivity, immersion, and personalized experience. It can effectively provide users with emotional support, death education, and life enlightenment, helping them deal with negative emotions and gradually accept the reality of losing their pets. This study not only provides a new perspective for the treatment of pet loss syndrome, but also opens up new directions for the application of virtual therapy in the field of mental health, emphasizing the potential of electronic therapy games in emotional healing.
Abstract: In recent years, a large number of cultural relics have been unearthed in China, but the state of their preservation is not optimistic. The root cause is that cultural relics have been buried underground for nearly a thousand years, and the sudden environmental changes such as temperature, humidity, light radiation and air conditions after the excavation have broken the balance formed before, which naturally has a great impact on cultural relics. This paper mainly studies the relationship between the buried environment of Chinese cultural relics and the preservation status of excavations, emphasizes the important connection between the two, and finds some factors for the better preservation status of cultural relics unearthed. Through case analysis, comparative analysis and other research methods, this paper finds that no matter the buried environment is good or bad, the changes of the buried environment and the sudden changes of the unearthed environment are the core influences of the preservation status of cultural relics. In other words, the destruction of balance is the greatest damage to cultural relics,
Abstract: There is no word for "Vicarious Liability" in Chinese law, but as an important concept in the common law system and a common situation in civil law, this article explains the reason and rationality of the establishment of Vicarious Liability from the perspective of economics. This paper explains the benefits of applying the principle of strict liability by applying the Hand formula and the minimum cost principle. To be sure, Vicarious Liability greatly reduces the cost of private transactions, which is conducive to the circulation of the market and the development of the society. Research methods involved in the paper: literature analysis, and case analysis. The study finds that although Vicarious Liability is criticized by some branch theory in the law system, it still has the rationality and necessity of its existence. The importance of vicarious liability can be found especially in the field of employment relationships and in the minor infringement.
Abstract: In the process of urbanization in China, the problem of the monotony of rural landscapes is becoming increasingly prominent. At the same time, people's activities are becoming more frequent, and the diversified pursuit of a better life requires that the functions of rural landscapes be further enriched and expanded. This study introduces the concept of a multi-functional landscape and, based on the division of the main multi-functional orders, constructs planning strategies suitable for rural landscapes in North China. The planning strategies suitable for the sustainable development of rural landscapes in North China are analyzed using the multi-functional landscape classification method and the ASEB analysis method (Activity, Setting, Experience, Benefit). The research results show that targeted rural landscape planning and design can effectively meet the development and transformation needs of modern villages.
