The cause of urban landscaping and greening is in a stage of development and is being explored in various cities. Most people are gradually realizing and accepting the value of landscaping as a way to maintain and improve the urban ecological environment, as well as to promote social well-being and sustainable economic development, as the idea of sustainable urban development continues to gain traction. Therefore, exploring how to continue to develop landscaping in the context of sustainable development and the significance of planning and development of landscaping has become a topic of urgent concern. This paper will take Shanghai and Nanjing, two cities of similar size and distance, as the basis for a comparative study of the ecological benefits and economic value of landscaping, and analyze and give suggestions for the future development of landscaping in the context of sustainable development. It is found that the ecological and economic benefits of landscaping in the two cities are significantly different under different planning policies. The ecological and economic advantages of Nanjing's landscaping are more noticeable than those of Shanghai, and an analysis of its landscaping practices is important for directing the future development of urban landscaping.

This study focuses on the history and cultural heritage of the Datong Exhibition Hall , a representative building constructed in 1969 during the Cultural Revolution period. Initially established as the "Mao Zedong Thought Forever Memorial Hall," the exterior design of the Datong Exhibition Hall resembles the Great Hall of the People, reflecting the architectural characteristics and achievements of that time. The exhibition hall has undergone multiple transformations, serving as a political exhibition venue, commercial space, cultural exhibition hall, community center, party activity center, and talent employment center. Through chronological narration and diverse research methods, this study meticulously traces its historical evolution, architectural features, cultural heritage, and social impact. The findings highlight its aesthetic value and significant historical importance for studying the history and culture of that period. Furthermore, as a cultural heritage site, the Datong Exhibition Hall bears witness to the social environment and political backdrop of the Cultural Revolution, embodying the historical memory and traditional culture of Datong City. In the future, it will continue to provide cultural experiences for citizens and serve as an important window for researching the architecture and culture of the Cultural Revolution period.

Both Hu Shi(胡适)and Lu Xun(鲁迅)conducted considerable research and evaluations on Water Margin(《水浒传》)and its major sequels. Various factors, such as historical context and personal perspectives, contributed to the divergence in their views. Hu Shi distinguished between Water Margin’s utility in the New Literature Movement and its ideological content. While he elevated Water Margin’s status as "vernacular" literature, he did not endorse certain ideological aspects within the text. Lu Xun, on the other hand, affirmed the revolutionary spirit in Water Margin but criticized its incompleteness and feudal characteristics. The contrasting evaluations of the same text by Hu Shi and Lu Xun in the same era stem from their differing perspectives and positions.

Religion, as a part of human culture, continues to permeate and influence the lives of human beings. Similarly, the social transformations and growth that people witness also act in the atmosphere of religion. This article takes the contemporary emerging religious phenomenon of the ‘Megachurches’ in the United States as the research object, and attempts to analyse the changes or tendencies in the field of religion that are taking place in today's society in a multicultural setting, and how a modern religion has been born in response to the age, together with the shedding of and confrontation with the previous religious traditions. A notable feature of the new contemporary religions that this article explores through a study and critique of the megachurches is the ‘secularisation of religions’. It is argued that the secularisation of religions is an indication of their development in line with the times and in turn characterises the cultural context of the ‘weakening of religious identity’. This is an essential factor in the birth of contemporary religions and in the inevitable contradictions that arise between them and traditional religions.

Individuals with Alzheimer’s disease often experience heightened anxiety and emotional challenges that significantly affect their quality of life and exacerbate cognitive decline. While traditional medications are essential, they often fall short in addressing anxiety-related mood disturbances. Recently, non-pharmacological interventions, particularly creative expression through painting, have shown promise as supportive therapies. This study explores the potential of painting therapy to reduce anxiety and enhance emotional well-being in Alzheimer’s patients. Over a seven-week period, a structured painting therapy program was conducted with weekly 50-minute sessions to provide a safe space for emotional expression. The findings suggest that painting activities enabled participants to reconnect with memories, express emotions, and improve self-awareness, contributing positively to their emotional resilience and engagement. However, limitations such as the small sample size and reliance on subjective assessments highlight the need for further research with larger samples and quantitative measures. Future studies could compare the effects of various art therapies, such as music or dance, to better understand their potential in dementia care and cognitive preservation.

Oral language instruction has long been overlooked in primary school English education in China. However, with the rapid pace of globalization and the growing demand for English proficiency, oral skills have become a crucial part of students’ overall language competence. Based on the Critical Period Hypothesis (CPH), investigating the sensitive period for language learning at different ages and its implications for educational practices has become a key approach to improving educational quality. Therefore, this paper seeks to explore how to enhance the quality of oral language teaching in primary school English classrooms in China through the application of the CPH. It specifically focuses on adopting effective teaching strategies to help students overcome challenges in oral language learning, thereby fostering the holistic development of their language skills. In addition, this study reviews and analyzes relevant literature, with a focus on recent research findings. And the results indicate that teaching strategies based on the CPH, such as group role-playing and dubbing activities, can effectively improve students’ oral language skills. These methods provide students with more opportunities for language practice, thereby addressing the shortcomings of oral language teaching. However, further experimental research is needed to validate the effectiveness of these teaching strategies.

This paper delves into the intricate dynamics of power and existence as portrayed in Wang Xiaobo's seminal work "The Golden Age," set against the backdrop of the Cultural Revolution. It scrutinizes the novel's parody and deconstruction of the power mechanisms that characterized this tumultuous era, shedding light on the existential dilemmas faced by individuals within the context of an absurd society. By examining the narrative's subversion of the status quo and its depiction of human nature under duress, the paper underscores the pervasive impact of power on individual autonomy and the essence of personal identity. The study reveals how "The Golden Age" transcends its historical setting to offer a timeless meditation on the human condition, particularly in relation to the quest for authenticity and freedom amidst societal absurdity. Wang Xiaobo's work is not merely a historical account but a profound philosophical inquiry into the nature of power and its capacity to warp human experience. Through a close analysis of the text, this paper aims to demonstrate the author's unwavering commitment to the ideals of personal liberty and the inherent dignity of human beings, as well as his relentless pursuit of spiritual emancipation in the face of life's absurdities

The convenience of society has increased significantly with the development of the Internet and social media. Nonetheless, it has also contributed to the rapid spread of information and the intensification of opinion polarization. This paper investigates how personalized recommendation algorithms can contribute to the further polarization of users' views through information filtering, the echo chamber effect, and the spiral of silence mechanism. The findings presented in the research indicate that when participants encounter information that contradicts their existing beliefs, rather than adopting a more neutral stance, they tend to strengthen their initial viewpoints. At the same time, ordinary users chose to remain silent for fear of online harassment, allowing extreme voices to dominate the network. This paper concludes that personalized recommendation algorithms enhance user experience, limit exposure to multiple viewpoints, and exacerbate social fragmentation. To tackle this issue, it is advisable for individuals to enhance their media literacy and proactively interact with a variety of viewpoints. Additionally, platforms and policymakers ought to modify their algorithms to facilitate the spread of diverse information, thereby fostering a more transparent communication landscape

From the Oracle period, the character “Shui” (water) has been created as a single pictograph and has been frequently used. In the long history of Chinese development, the connotation of “Shui” has been constantly enriched, with some lexical items appearing and disappearing, and some new lexical meanings being frequently used in contemporary communication and gradually being stereotyped. Based on the corpus of Center for Chinese Linguistics (CCL) of Peking University, this paper takes the meaning of “Shui” as the research object, comprehensively summarizing the meanings of water in each period at the diachronic linguistic level and analyzing the relationship of the terms of the meaning of “Shui” at the synchrony linguistic level. The research shows that the meanings of “Shui” in earlier periods were primarily extended from its basic sense, with straightforward derivations. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties and modern times, new meanings often arose through metaphor and metonymy. These metaphorical meanings became more intricate and less directly linked to the original, enhancing expressive vividness and reflecting a strong connection to life while maintaining simplicity

As social and cultural changes and the evolution of audience aesthetics, traditional crosstalk is also facing the need to update its content and form. By means of synthesis and theoretical analysis, this paper explores that while inheriting the essence of traditional crosstalk, crosstalk as an art form needs to be adapted to the needs of modern audiences through innovations in jokes and character relationships, in order to adapt to the innovation and development of modern society. While analyzing the core elements of traditional crosstalk, including the use of jokes, the construction of character relationships, and the reflection of social and cultural backgrounds, the paper points out the limitations that these elements face in modern times, such as the timeliness of the content, the rigidity of the form, the regionality of the language, the singularity of the themes, and the conservatism of performance. On this basis, the essay proposes a series of innovative strategies to evolve traditional crosstalk while meeting the contemporary audience's aesthetic needs, including content reflecting the spirit of the times, breakthroughs in traditional performance forms, overcoming linguistic locality, expanding thematic diversity, innovative performance styles, and strengthening interactivity with the audience
